Who we are?

SWWB is a Christian non-governmental and non-profit organization looking to:

1) provide awareness, relief, intervention, care and development to the underserved communities, especially refugees and stateless.

2) equip and train community-based/led organizations, community leaders and mobilisers to better serve, care and protect their community.

3) advocate, train and consult faith-based/affiliated organization on holistic and comprehensive care for the underserved communities for the greater good.

4) advance and strengthen the Malaysia’s social work scene.

What do we do?

  • A direct intervention to rescue, relief and respond to high risk cases of child protection and gender-based violence that include domestic violence, sexual abuse, trafficking and others by having case management (hospital visitation, police reporting, home visitation, counselling service, etc), community safe placement (providing shelter within the community) and community-based protection (support from community).

  • A development work for and with the community-based/led organization to form a professional service framework with a purposeful and meaningful design of the organization identity, service structure, referral system, programs and others to better serve and support their own communities.

  • An empowerment program for holistic growth and wellness on top of the existing program that the community has. For example, on top of an existing sports program, additional values such as leadership, protection awareness, mental health will be incorporated into the program.

  • A journey to build capacity, train and supervise individuals such as community leaders, mobilisers, focal points to step up and move up higher in their work professionalism and personal growth.

In our communication with every stakeholder, from our staff, to our partners, donors, supporters and beneficiaries, we want to ensure that we are held accountable and being respectful in all that we say and do.

In our operation and deliverables, we want not only be cost effective and efficient but to perform well in different aspects, for we want to be a wise and faithful steward of the resources we receive.

In our work, integrity is a virtue that we want to hold onto, by being transparent and truthful. This will be translated into our finances, operation, governance and communication.

Professional and ethical

In our relationships working with people, we want to be professional and ethical as we are in the helping profession to serve, care, support and protect the people.

Participative and involving

In the activities that we do, we want those who are involved whether it is the staff or beneficiaries to participate and involve in the decision making, so that they will be heard and valued.

Reconciling and growing

In our organization, there will be imperfection and flaws but we want to have working relationships that able to reconcile and help each other grow as a better person.
